San Francisco! What a City!

The California Gold Rush in 1848 propelled the city of San Francisco into the great city it is today. Even after suffering a devastating earthquake and fire in 1906 that destroyed three-quarters of the city, San Francisco was quickly rebuilt and gained enough stamina to host the Panama-Pacific International Exposition nine years later, which is a testament to the strength that holds this great city together. Known for its liberalizing attitudes and a host of other factors that cements San Francisco as a center of liberal activism in the United States. With its eccentric culture and breath taking gorgeous views, San Francisco is a hugely popular international tourist destination. Renowned for its chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, electric mix of Victorian and modern architecture and its famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, and Chinatown, the city is one that keeps you clamoring for more. We truly enjoyed every moment of our visit to this wonderful city and Emeril Lagasse was not lying when he said it is hard to find a bad meal in San Francisco. If you love history, food, culture and sites, San Francisco is a must visit.
