Times Square

We are getting more comfortable with the subway system every day. I think by the time we leave we should have it down.

Depending where you are traveling it’s amazing how different the surroundings are. We started out in China Town, went underground to hop a train and we come up in Times Square which is awe-inspiring. It has buildings that touch the sky with video screens everywhere. We stepped into the river of people and ventured down Broadway. It’s amazing listening to all the people who surround you and, the different languages they are speaking. You can’t but wonder what brought them here.  Are they locals or are they visiting from afar? New York is truly the melting pot of our great country. We walk by Radio City Music Hall, the Fashion District, NBC studios, Rockefeller Center and Bryant Park. There were street carts everywhere. Most had the normal fare of Pretzels and Hotdogs.  But some had a larger variety that included marinated meat on a stick with peppers called Souvlaka (the hamburger of the Greeks) and Falafel, a patty made of ground Chickpeas served in a Pita with pickled veggies and Tahini sauce.  We walked until our shoes were smoking!  Then it was back underground to catch the subway back to China town and in for the evening to rest up for our last night in the big city.
